Microsoft exec Aaron Greenberg has predicted that Sony will cut the price of PlayStation 3 very soon.

"We absolutely expect the PS3 price drop to happen in the next couple of months," he told Edge.

"We're frankly surprised it's taken this long... I would expect they'd have to move on price, sooner than later, for sure."

Right now the 120GB Xbox Elite carries an RRP of GBP 229.99, while the 80GB PS3 is GBP 299.99.

At last year's Leipzig Games Convention, SCEE boss David Reeves told us there would be no price cut "this year" - and as it turned out, he wasn't making it up.

It has been confirmed that Kodu will hit the Xbox 360 in the Spring. This is a piece of software designed to assist anyone even as young as 7 to create their own video games.

To quote: The idea of video game players making their own games arrived on console systems three months ago with Sony's release of LittleBigPlanet for the PlayStation 3. That game let players create new environments and levels for the game's character SackBoy.

Kodu is also expected to have some online sharing features if privacy concerns can be addressed properly, says lead designer Matt MacLaurin. And Kodu, because it is more programming-based, will give designers more control over the rules that govern the characters in their games.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has revealed a PlayStation 3 bundle for Capcom's forthcoming shooter Resident Evil 5 (or Biohazard 5), scheduled for Japanese release with the game on March 5th.

The bundle will be priced at ¥48,980 ($526) and will include an 80GB PlayStation 3 system branded with the Biohazard logo and text, a copy of the game, and two Dualshock 3 controllers.

Microsoft revealed yesterday that it will also offer an Xbox 360 bundle for the survival horror game in Japan, priced at ¥34,800 ($369) and due March 5th.

The bundle will feature a 60GB system, a 48-hour Xbox Live Gold membership trial card, a copy of Resident Evil 5, a headset, a soundtrack CD, a collector's tin case, and a code for downloading an RE5 theme.

Neither Microsoft or Sony have disclosed any plans to bring their respective system bundles to the West. Resident Evil 5 ships for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the U.S. on March 13th.

While obviously the PS3 is the most expensive console on the market, Sony would like to remind consumers that it provides "the most features and functionality out of the box".

We just received this e-mail from them, comparing the price of the PS3 to the Wii and 360, upgraded to meet the PS3's standards:
