Before even receiving a set release date, GTA: Chinatown Wars, the upcoming GTA installment for the Nintendo DS, has joined the ranks of GTA IV PC and Xbox 360 downloadable content as delayed.
At a press conference today, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed GTA IV DLC’s delay rumors stating that it may arrive as late as Spring 2009.
Zelnick also stated that Chinatown Wars isn’t scheduled to be released in the first quarter of the 2009 fiscal year (January 2009) as initially expected, but will arrive within Q2 2009, which ends in April.

Nintendo has released figures for 2008 hardware sales in Europe, which reveal the PS3 is outselling the Xbox 360 - though the Wii is still laughing in both of their faces.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, more than 10.4 million Wii consoles have been shifted in Europe this year. The high point for Nintendo was April, when nearly 180,000 units were sold. The figure for Xbox 360 during the same month was around 90,000, as it was for PS3.
Overall, PS3 sales are said to exceed those for Xbox 360. However, Microsoft's console proved more popular than its rival during October, when a price cut boosted sales to more than 60,000 units.
The DS has beaten the PSP over the course of the year. In July Nintendo shifted 225,000 handhelds, while the PSP reached a peak of 50,000 units during the same period.

Everything is always “subject to change,” but if this isn’t the smoking gun for Sony cutting their losses this console cycle. Today, Sony’s Chief Financial Officer, Nobuyuki Oneda announced that Sony had no plans to cut price on the PlayStation 3.
Speaking to investors in Singapore, Oneda said that “[o]ur strategy is not to sell more quantity for PS3 but to concentrate on profitability. Our plan is not to reduce the price.” To be fair, if Sony is indeed looking to cut the price of their system, the last thing they are going to do is advertise the fact that they are planning to cut the price of their system.
After all, if they can reel in a couple of people at the higher price, they make extra money. So, Oneda saying “[o]ur plan is not to reduce the price” is not the main sticking point here. However, Oneda stating that their strategy of profitability over market share is significant and could signal that Sony is “tossing in the towel,... More »
According to a report from German newspaper NRC Handelsblad, Dutch authorities arrested the 20-year old computer hacker Jasper Houben last Tuesday evening.
Known in the underground community under his online pseudonym of “MaddoxX,” Houben ran an anti-Valve forum known as No-Steam, as well as the piracy group “EMPORiO,” which specialized in releasing cracked copies of Valve’s Steam titles, including Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2.
MaddoxX made headlines back in April of 2007 when he posted a threat letter to Valve on his No-Steam Web site, publicly revealing sensitive data on a number of subscribers to Valve’s Cyber Cafe service in the process.
Not only is he being charged for hacking into Valve’s servers, but also for downloading an in-development version of Activision’s Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, as well as stealing credit card data on 50,000 customers from an English tickets site. To put it simply: he’s screwed.
Final Fantasy Dissidia is a game being developed by Square Enix for the PlayStation Portable. It was officially announced on the 8th of May 2007, after the trademark “Dissidia” was registered on te 6th of April 2007.
The purpose of the game is to help celebrate 20 years of Final Fantasy and as such, it will feature memorable characters from the fabled series. However, given a really quick start to its development, things seem to have slowed right down.
Up until last week, when Famitsu had a brief section on the game to announce that Jecht would be joining Tidus in the game (instead of Seymour, as many thought), there hadn’t been any news on the game for a good three months. It was then, that they released a glut of new characters, including what appeared to be Golbez, Exdeath and Kefka.
We then have to go back another three months for the last piece of news, which was that Tidus would be joining the cast alongside possibly a Judge from Fin... More »
Developer CD Projekt today revealed that its reworked and tweaked version of The Witcher, titled The Witcher Enhanced Edition, has been delayed to early September.
Originally slated for a May release, CD Projekt made mention of the delay in April, but had not specified a new date for the expanded PC fantasy RPG.
The revised launch date was announced in an update to the game's community page, where the company explained that the delay was necessary to prepare ten different language localizations of the game for a simultaneous release.
Beyond bug fixes and stability improvements, The Witcher Enhanced Edition will see the addition of fifty new character models for an increased variety in NPCs, new voice acting, a redone translation, improved facial animation and gestures, and a revised inventory system. Most of the changes are a direct result of player feedback.
The new content will be provided free of charge to those users who have ... More »
